  • Do I need to book online?
    It is strongly recommended that you book your flight online and pay your deposit. You can also call the museum to book a ride. While we do take walk-ins and last-minute flight bookings, we strongly suggest you book your flight as far in advance as possible. We will always make every effort to accommodate your but cannot guarantee a flight without a reservation. For same day bookings please call the Planes of Fame Air Museum at 909-597-3722.
  • If I'm not a pilot, can I still book a flight experience?
    Yes! Passengers do not control the aircraft and simply enjoy the ride.
  • If I am a pilot, can I log the flight hour in my logbook?
    No, our aircraft do not have dual controls, so you are not able to log the flight hour.
  • Can I bring any guests with me?
    Yes. You can bring guests with you. Your booking includes free entry for ONE guest. Each additional guest will pay the museum entry fee which is $20 for an adult (ages 12 and up) and $10 for children (ages 5-11).
  • What should I bring and wear?
    No special equipement is needed, you will be provided with a headset for communication during the flight. Wear comfortable clothing and closed toed shoes. Long pants are recommended. We recommend wearing sunglasses and drink plenty of water.
  • How early should I arrive before the scheduled flight?
    Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled flight to get checked in. If you are not familiar with the airport, you may want to allow some extra time before your fligth departure time. There is another air museum located at Chino Airport and sometimes guests end up at the wrong location, please follow the signs to Planes of Fame Air Museum. Please see our Policies Page if you are late or have missed your flight.
  • What happens on a typical flight?
    Your experience begins when you arrive at Planes of Fame Air Museum at check in time. We will hand out and collect your release forms. Then you'll proceed to the aircraft for a pre-flight safety briefing. At that point, we'll escort you out to the aircraft to introduce you to the pilot for a final safety orientation. Your aircraft will start up on the museum ramp so any guests you bring with you will be able to see the engine start and aircraft taxiing out for take off. The length of your flight is approximately 20 minutes take off to landing and your flight path depends on current weather conditions in the local area the day of your flight. Once back on the ground, you will taxi back to the museum and the exit the aircraft. You'll then be given time to take photos before being escorted back to the lobby and receive your flight certificate.
  • Is there a height and/or weight limit?
    Yes. All passengers need to be at least 100 lbs and cannot exceed 350 lbs for the flight due to the weight and balance restrictions on the aircraft. All passengers must be less than 6 ft 3 in tall due to the size of the backseat.
  • Is there an age restriction?
    Yes. All passengers must be at least 16 years old. Anyone under the age of 18 must have the waiver signed by their parent or guardian and they must be present the day of the flight.
  • Can I bring my camera?
    Yes. Please feel free to take photos and video of your experience. Due to safety of flight concerns, we do not allow cameras with straps attached in the aircraft.
  • Should I tip my pilot?
    If you feel your pilot has done a great job, please feel free to make a donation to the Planes of Fame Air Museum at checkout. Pilots do not accept tips directly. Donations are always apprciated but never expected.
